Due to Pennsylvania law, ANYONE who would like to volunteer within the GABSA organization will need to complete a 4-step background verification process. Each of these 4 steps can be completed by you in 5-10 minutes each, however it’s possible one or more of these items could take 1-2 weeks to have the results returned. With that in mind, the GABSA Board of Directors encourages anyone who would like to volunteer this season to begin this process as soon as possible. Items 1-3 in the list below are valid for 60 months once completed, so once we have these on file it is not required to repeat every year.

Child Abuse History Clearance from the PA Dept of Human Services – FREE
Instructions on how to complete Child Abuse Clearance free of charge – View Instructions
FBI fingerprint or signed affidavit (depending on how long you have lived in PA)
If you have lived in PA for at least the past 10 consecutive years – FREE
- Print, sign and return the (attached) affidavit
- If you have not lived in PA for at least the past 10 consecutive years – FEE $27
- You need to have FBI fingerprint check completed – Click Here

- After registering using the link above, you must then visit the local fingerprinting office to have your fingerprints taken electronically.
